COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland women’s soccer head coach Meghan Ryan Nemzer was inducted into the St. Mary’s Athletics Hall of Fame, the team announced Monday. Nemzer was an ’03 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, Md.

“We are so proud of Meghan being inducted into St. Mary’s High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Meg’s hard work and dedication has been rewarded by the school where it all started,” said Nemzer’s parents, John and Adrienne Ryan.

Nemzer played basketball and soccer during her time at St. Mary’s and was the centerpiece defender on a lockdown defense for two IAAM A Conference Championship teams. Meghan went on to play soccer at Rutgers, where she was a three-time team captain and three-time Big East Player of the Week.

After her playing career concluded, Nemzer stayed on the Rutgers staff and coached 14 years with the team, including eight years as Associate Head Coach.

Nemzer just wrapped up her first season at the helm of the Maryland women’s soccer program. She recorded her first victory as a head coach on Sept. 4 with a 3-0 dominant victory over George Mason. The Terps went on to have a successful season recording their most wins since 2019.
