The Kansas City Comets (2-2-1) are back on home turf at Cable Dahmer Arena for a meeting with the St. Louis Ambush (2-2-0) on Saturday, December 17 at 6:05 p.m. CT.

With the season series currently tied at 1-1, round three of this season’s I-70 series will decide the I-70 bragging rights until both teams meet in St. Louis on December 31.

The Comets enter the contest coming from a heartbreaking 9-7 loss Friday night in Milwaukee after coming back from five goals down. Coming back down from 6-1, the Comets tied it at 7-7 with 1:03 remaining before letting it a point slip away in the final minute.

Lucas Sousa had three goals and two assists, moving his season tally to seven goals and three assists. John Sosa follows with two goals and eight assists while James Togbah has five goals.

Goalkeeper Nicolau Neto has made 17 saves in each of the past two games as he leads the MASL with 54 saves this season.

Kansas City will be missing Ray Lee (right ankle sprain) and Henry Ramirez (right acl rehab), but Rian Marques (right ankle tendinitis) is probable alongside Chase Bromstedt (left hamstring strain).

The Ambush enter the contest well-rested from a 4-3 overtime win against the Baltimore Blast last Sunday.

St. Louis will be without JT Thomas (achilles tendon) and Stefan Mijatovic (suspension). Robby Kristo (QD) and Kevin Ellis (knee) are also questionable while Duduca Carvalho (calf), Sam Guernsey (groin), Tony Walls (calf) and Marcel Berry (toe) are probable.

Carvalho leads the Ambush with five points from three goals and two assists in three games, followed by Ellis with three goals and an assist.

The Ambush are winless on the road in two tries, suffering a 4-2 defeat in Kansas City on November 26 before a 7-3 loss against the Milwaukee Wave last Saturday.

The last time these two teams met, Kansas City came out with a 4-2 win at Cable Dahmer Arena.
