Four Terps to Participate in MLS College Showcase

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Four Maryland men’s soccer student-athletes will participate in the MLS College Showcase, taking place Dec. 9-12 in Raleigh, North Carolina in conjunction with the 2022 NCAA Men’s College Cup and in advance of the 2023 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas on Dec. 21.

Joshua Bolma, Malcolm Johnston, Nick Richardson and Chris Rindov will be at the event, which will allow MLS clubs to scout and interact with potential MLS SuperDraft selections across different stages of their collegiate careers without jeopardizing players’ collegiate eligibility. The 2022 adidas MLS College Showcase is a closed event and only open to MLS club technical staffs.

Bolma and Johnston both participated in the showcase in 2021 while Richardson and Rindov have been invited for the first time. Maryland’s Ben Bender and Brett St. Martin were selected in 2022 MLS SuperDraft, with Bender going to Charlotte FC with the No. 1 overall selection.

The 2022 adidas MLS College Showcase will feature 44 top college players, ranging from freshmen to graduate students, participating in a series of training sessions, testing, interviews, and match play. The MLS SuperDraft will take place Dec. 21.
