Manchester United have reportedly told interested clubs to pay £80million for Marcus Rashford with his contract set to expire next year.

The 25-year-old has been at United since 2005 but is about to enter the final six months of his contract.

There are plenty of clubs sniffing around as they hope to land him on a free transfer.

However, the Red Devils have the option to extend the England forward’s contract by a further year.

Despite this, they find themselves in a precarious position with Rashford yet to commit his long-term future to his boyhood club.

He told Sky Sports: “He’s another player that is really amazing. And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.”

Al-Khelaifi added: “We’re not hiding it, we spoke before and… interest. But the moment was not a good moment for both sides. Maybe, summer, why not?

“Today if he’s a free agent of course we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now. Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after in January, hopefully, if we’re interested we will talk to him.”

Rashford is currently preparing for a huge World Cup quarter-final against France.

England topped Group B ahead of the United States, Iran and Wales before brushing aside African champions Senegal 3-0 in the last 16.

Rashford has one of the best goal-per-game ratios in the competition having scored three times in only one start.
