Four Terps Named United Soccer Coaches All-Region Selections


COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Maryland men’s soccer student-athletes Nick Richardson (first team), Malcolm Johnston (second team), Joshua Bolma (second team) and Chris Rindov (third team) were named United Soccer Coaches All-North Region selections, the organization announced Tuesday. 

Richardson had his best season as a Terp as a redshirt senior. He is tied for second in the Big Ten in assists with eight and has added three goals from his right back position. He was named First-Team All-Big Ten and was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions this season. A team captain, Richardson was previously named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2019. 

Johnston ended his season with eights assists and added six goals, tied for the team lead and T-6 in the Big Ten, which ranks eighth in the conference. The Aurora, Ontario served as a team captain and was named First-Team All-Big Ten. He earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors earlier this season and was a Big Ten All-Tournament team pick. 

Bolma, who was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2021, earns All-Region honors for the second consecutive year. The Accra, Ghana native racked up eight assists and added a pair of goals. He was a First-Team All-Big Ten selection for the second straight season. 

Rindov earned his first All-Region selection after a fantastic senior season. The Rockville, Md., native was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week twice this year and played every minute for Maryland. Maryland’s third team captain, he has scored a pair of goals and added an assist.
