EVANSTON, Ill. – Four Wildcats have been recognized to All-North Region Teams by United Soccer Coaches on Thursday, November 29. Meg Boade was named to the First Team All-North Region, while Josie Aulicino, Aurea del Carmen, and Rowan Lapi received Third Team honors.
Meg Boade was named to the First Team after a standout 2022 season, tallying seven goals and two assists, with five goals and both assists coming in Big Ten play. Boade’s 12 points earned during Big Ten play are the second-most in a conference campaign in Northwestern history. The Lone Tree, Colorado native also earned First Team All-Big Ten honors.
Josie Aulicino earned Third Team All-North Region honors for the second consecutive season. Aulicino led the Wildcats in both goals (9) and assists (10). Her ten helpers in the 2022 season rank second all-time on the Northwestern single-season assist leaderboard. Aulicino was also named Third Team All-Big Ten.
Aurea del Carmen was selected to the Third Team after a stellar senior season, in which she scored six goals and added five assists. The forward from Gilroy, California scored two game-winners for the ‘Cats in wins over Nebraska and Wisconsin. Additionally, del Carmen also received Second Team All-Big Ten honors.
Rowan Lapi was also named to the Third Team after an outstanding 2022 campaign. The midfielder scored six goals this season, including four game winners, and totaled three assists. The captain was also perfect from the penalty spot this season, making all three penalty kicks she attempted. Lapi also earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors.
Four all-region selections ties a program record, matching the marks set in both 2016 and 2017.
