England vs USA: Gareth Southgate's lineup leaked

Gareth Southgate is expected to name an unchanged lineup when England take on the USA on Friday evening at Al Bayt Stadium in the World Cup.

The boss went for an attacking 4-3-3 setup in their tournament opener against Iran and reaped the rewards with a 6-2 victory, although he left the game with concerns over a potential ankle injury suffered by Harry Kane and an illness that forced Harry Maguire off the field in the second half.

Southgate has since revealed that both players have made full recoveries from their minor ailments.

Now, The Athletic state that Southgate is set to stick with the same 11 players that were victorious over Iran last time out.

(4-3-3): Pickford; Trippier, Maguire, Stones, Shaw; Rice, Bellingham, Mount; Saka, Kane, Sterling.

Maguire spoke publicly about his illness ahead of the USA game, insisting he feels completely ready to take to the pitch once again.

“Obviously it was disappointing to have to come off,” he told a press conference. “I felt unwell in the second half but we have a great medical department. I have done all the tests and felt well since. I have been on the training pitch over the last couple of days and I feel good and ready to go.”
