LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men’s soccer team earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Tournament on Monday morning, and will host California Baptist in a first round game at Wallis Annenberg Stadium on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. PT.
The winner of the game between the Bruins (10-6-1) and Lancers (10-6-4) will travel to face No. 6 Clemson (13-6-1) in the second round on Sunday. The other half of the quadrant features Vermont (13-3-2) hosting Quinnipiac (13-4-3) for the right to play at No. 11 SMU (10-5-1) on Sunday.
UCLA is one of four Pac-12 teams to earn bids into the tourney, joining No. 2 seed Washington, No. 5 seed Stanford, and No. 8 seed Oregon State.
This is UCLA’s 47th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and second in a row under fourth-year head coach Ryan Jorden. The Bruins are making consecutive NCAA Tourney appearances for the first time since 2015-16.
UCLA is 74-42 all-time in the NCA Tournament, including a 15-6 mark in the first round. This marks the first-ever postseason matchup between UCLA and Cal Baptist.
