Ten Hag Hails 'Brilliant' Garnacho After Man Utd Late Winner

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was full of praise for teenager Alejandro Garnacho after his 93rd minute winner in Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Fulham.

Garnacho used his speed to burst in behind the Fulham defence as part of a one-two to poke in the winner in stoppage-time after Christian Eriksen had put United ahead in the 14th minute, with Dan James equalising on the hour.

The 18-year-old Argentine’s goal comes after an exciting impact over the past month, including two assists in the League Cup in midweek, along with the winner against Real Sociedad a fortnight ago.

“I like good football, I like good footballers and he is one who can entertain,” Ten Hag told reporters.

“But in the end, it is about end product and that is what he brings into the team. He had some good dribbles, maybe already a penalty moment, but in the end, he kept going.

“Great pass from Christian Eriksen, great build-up from the whole team, because it was really composed, how we played that.

“But the assist and the finish from Garnacho are really brilliant.”

The win means United head into the World Cup break in fifth spot with 26 points from 14 games, ahead of Liverpool in sixth and Chelsea in eighth.

“Yes, of course, you have to take time when it is there and we will do,” the Dutchman said.

“Also to know that from (19 or 20) December we continue until May and that is a long way, but also we have work to do.

“We have to analyse, but especially making plans, strategies how we continue.”
