The Syracuse Orange are ACC Champions! Syracuse secured its first ACC Tournament Championship since 2015 with a 2-0 win over 8-seed Clemson at Wake Med Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., on Sunday afternoon.
The No. 2 seed Orange took an early 1-0 lead when Lorenzo Boselli scored in the 21st minute of play. The Orange added a second goal 16 minutes later when Curt Cavlov found Giona Liebold to double Syracuse’s advantage just before halftime. Syracuse kept a clean sheet in the second half en route to its first NCAA Tournament Title since 2015, a yeah in which ‘Cuse went on to reach the College Cup.
Next up for the Orange is the NCAA Tournament. The 2022 Selection Show is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. on NCAA.com. With the ACC Championship and a top-5 ranking, the Orange are expected to host NCAA Tournament Games at the SU Soccer Stadium for the first time since 2015.
