Facundo Pellistri will look to secure a permanent transfer away from Manchester United during the January transfer window, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed the 20-year-old winger from Uruguayan side Penarol for £9million in 2020. However, he is yet to make a senior appearance for the club.

Erik ten Hag gave Pellistri a chance to impress during United’s pre-season campaign but the winger failed to make his mark and slipped further down the pecking order.

According to AS, Pellistri is against going out on loan again – having previously completed a spell Alaves.

The youngster would rather terminate his United contract permanently than leave the club on a temporary basis.

As a result, he could part ways with the Red Devils during the January transfer window – five months before his contract expires in June 2025.

Pellistri will look to showcase his skills at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after being named in Uruguay’s initial 35-man squad.

Pellistri’s agent believes the 20-year-old will pick up several suitors following the showpiece tournament later this month.

Edgardo Lasalvia told ESPN: ‘I think that with a good World Cup, as we think it will have, his departure is imminent’.

However, Pellistri struggled for form while on loan with Alaves. He failed to score or register an assist during his spell with the Spanish side.
