DURHAM – Following the completion of the ACC Championship on Sunday, a trio of Duke women’s soccer standouts were named to the ACC All-Tournament Team. Michelle Cooper, Ruthie Jones and Kat Rader were selected by a vote of media and staff in attendance.
In the quarterfinals, the Blue Devils went on the road and collected a 2-1 victory at eighth-ranked Virginia. Cooper and Rader each totaled a goal and assist in the match, while Jones posted the win in goal tallying one save over 90 minutes.
In the semifinals, Jones showed why she is considered one of the top goalkeepers in the nation as she collected a career-high 10 saves over 110 minutes without allowing a goal against top-seeded North Carolina. It marked the first time this season the Tar Heels had been held scoreless in regulation. She also saved the fifth penalty kick by North Carolina to send the match to extra kicks.
Cooper and Rader combined for four shots in the semifinal match.
Duke awaits the NCAA selection show, which will take place on Monday, Nov. 7 at 4 p.m., live on NCAA.com.
