NC State Falls at Clemson

ACC First Round

CLEMSON, S.C. – The NC State men’s soccer team (6-6-4, 1-5-2 ACC) fell 3-0 to Clemson (10-5-1, 3-4-1 ACC) in its Friday night road match that rounded out the Pack’s regular-season slate.

The loss marked the Wolfpack’s first in three weeks, breaking a five-match point streak that NC State carried headed into the night.

Clemson got on the board in the 24th minute after drawing a penalty kick that Hamady Diop converted on. The Tigers added to their lead late in the first half with some quick ball movement that made it to Isaiah Easley at the near post for the knock in.

NC State held Clemson without another score for the first 38 minutes of the second half, but the Tigers added to their tally with a goal off a corner kick in the 82nd minute.

Both Junior Nare and Luke Hille got off shots on target, but Clemson goalkeeper Joseph Andema made the saves on both strikes.

NC State will begin postseason action with the first round of the 2022 ACC Men’s Soccer Tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 2. The finalized bracket and kick off times/television designations will be announced later Friday evening.
