Contracts

Blackburn Rovers have given young forward Jack Vale a new deal to keep him at the club until 2025.

Alexis Mac Allister has signed a 3-year contract with a club option for a further year with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Empoli duo Filippo Bandinelli and Tommaso Baldanzi have signed new deals. Baldinelli is now locked down until 2025, while Baldanzi is signed until 2027.

Livingston midfielder Scott Pittman signed a 4-year contract.

Wigan Athletic manager Leam Richardson has been given a new 3-year deal.

Seattle Sounders have given new 1-year deals to Jordan Morris, Danny Leyva, Josh Atencio, Abdoulaye Cissoko, Jackson Ragen and Dylan Teves. Centre-back Ragen has a club option for one more year and midfielder Teves has a two year club option.

 


Transfers

Free agent former Southampton midfielder Gaston Ramirez has signed for Virtus Entella in Italy’s Serie C – B.

Former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Keanan Bennetts has signed for Darmstadt 98.

 


Job Changes

Aston Villa have turned to Unai Emery as their new head coach to replace Steven Gerrard. Emery has previously managed in the Premier League with Arsenal but it currently in charge of Spanish La Liga side Villareal. He will officially take over on 1st November after Villa paid £5.2m to buyout his contract from Villareal. A Villa statement read: “Aston Villa is delighted to announce the appointment of Unai Emery as the club’s new head coach. A highly experienced top level coach who has managed over 900 games, Unai has also previously managed in the Premier League during a spell with Arsenal, leading the Gunners to a Europa League final. He has also enjoyed notable success at Sevilla and at Paris St-Germain. In Seville, he won three successive Europa League titles between 2013 and 2016 before going on to lift a Ligue 1 championship in France as well as two French Cups, two French League Cups and two Trophees des Champions.”

Middlesbrough have also appointed a new head coach in the shape of former Manchester United and England midfielder Michael Carrick, who originally hails from the North East. The 41-year-old’s only experience as a head coach is when he was temporarily in charge of Manchester United last season, for three matches, after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked.
