Michigan Closes Out 2022 Season With Shutout Loss to Indiana

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan women’s soccer team fell 1-0 against Indiana in the final match of the 2022 campaign Sunday (Oct. 23) at U-M Soccer Stadium.

Indiana (2-7-7, 1-7-2 Big Ten) outshot Michigan 7-2 in the opening 25 minutes before the Hoosiers converted on a loose ball in front to open the scoring.

After an initial shot from IU’s Natasha Kim that was blocked, Ava Akeel slotted home an attempt at the top of the six.

Following a disallowed Indiana goal in the 66th minute following a video review, Michigan (7-8-3, 2-6-2 B1G) seized control of the offense half, with chances scattered over the next 15 minutes before senior Lily Farkas had a shot from the left flank, followed another quality chance three minutes later.
