Buckeyes Finish 4th in Big Ten, Take on Nebraska in BTT – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s soccer team finished Big Ten play with a record 5-3-2 and 17 points, which put them in a tie for fourth in the conference standings.

This is the 10th time in program history that the Buckeyes have posted a Top 4 finish in conference play. The 10 wins overall also marks the 17th time that Ohio State has won 10 or more games in a season, and the first since 2017.

The Buckeyes will open Big Ten Tournament play this Sunday as they head to Nebraska. The teams drew 2-2 in the regular season meeting in Lincoln on October 8. Emma Sears and Kayla Fischer each had a goal and an assist in the game.

Overall, Ohio State has an all-time record of 13-13-5 in the Big Ten Tournament with three titles coming in 2002, 2004 and 2012. After the quarterfinals next Sunday, the semifinals and finals will be played in Columbus at Lower.com Field, home of the Columbus Crew.

Sears and Fischer led the Buckeyes during the regular season with eight goals apiece. Sears is also tied for the team-lead with five assists and has a team-high 21 points. Fischer is now tied for eighth in program history with 28 career goals. Talani Barnett has been one of the top defenders in the country this season and has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week twice.
