Bruins Blast Buffs, 6-0 – UCLA

Boulder, Colo. – No. 1 UCLA put on a clinic Thursday afternoon, defeating host Colorado, 6-0, in a Pac-12 contest at Prentup Field. The Bruins, who were six days removed from their first loss of the season, bounced back in a big way and wasted no time in gaining the advantage, scoring their first of four second-half goals in the first 82 seconds of the game.

Reilyn Turner totaled two goals and an assist, MacKenzee Vance recorded a goal and an assist, and Sunshine Fontes had two assists. Bridgette Marin-Valencia, Sofia Cook and Lexi Wright provided the other three goals for the Bruins. Goalkeepers Lauren Brzykcy and Neeku Purcell combined for the shutout, UCLA’s ninth of the season.

For the third time this season, Turner put the Bruins ahead with a goal in the first two minutes of play. At 1:22, she received a pass from Maricarmen Reyes and fired a shot from outside the box that got past Colorado goalkeeper Dani Hansen at the right post.

Vance made the score 2-0 at 15:48, dribbling down the field and firing top shelf from about 25 yards out for her second goal of the year.
