RGV FC locked in after a slow first half showing at Memphis 901 FC to climb back and earn a big road draw, 2-2, in the late stages of the match to boost back into playoff contention and into the six-spot of the Western conference standings.
Juan Pablo Torres found the net as he scored his second goal in three matches, to kick start the comeback. Jonas Fjelberg bounced a lucky shot off a Memphis defender, who redirected the ball enough to cause an own goal situation which equalized the match for the Toros after presenting a newly mixed lineup.
The emphasis remains in taking every game serious and approaching it as a final, nothing changes at home against a Phoenix Rising FC side which poses a clear threat to the Toros hopes of remaining above the playoff line. Rising FC must win the match to stay alive in the tight Western conference, a draw and loss could end their contention on Saturday night.
Limiting defensive miscues and playing a strong attacking style should bring RGV FC back into rhythm as they benefit from the fast paced home field advantage at H-E-B Park.
