CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s soccer team heads to Louisville, Ky. to take on the Louisville Cardinals on Thursday, Oct. 6. The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ACCNX.
This marks only the fifth time that the Tigers and Cardinals will meet, with Louisville leading the series, 2-1-1. Most recently Clemson and Louisville tied 1-1 in Clemson in 2021 with Caroline Conti registering a goal in the 57th minute. Graduate forward Maisie and freshman defender Karsyn Cherry lead the Cardinals with 11 and six points, respectively.
Most recently the Tigers dropped a tight 2-1 match to NC State as Conti registered her 11th point. Previously the Tigers upset then No. 6 Notre Dame 2-0 at Historic Riggs Field on Sept. 15, recording the highest ranked home win since beating No. 5 Virginia on Sept. 20, 2018. Harper White was pivotal in the victory as she registered a career-high two assists which resulted in ACC Defensive Player of the Week and College Soccer News National Team of the Week honors. Sami Meredith registered her first goal of the season while Emily Brough netted her third goal in her first career start. Junior keeper Halle Mackiewicz registered a season-high six saves in the win.
