Anouk Denton Selected for U23 England Women’s National Team Training Camp

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville sophomore defender Anouk Denton is heading back across the pond as she has been selected to the U23 England Women’s National Team for their upcoming training camp. She will compete with the Cardinals on Saturday against #14 Pitt before heading to England for the training camp that will take place from Oct. 3-11.

The U23 team will be training during this international segment in preparation for two friendlies against European foes. The Lionesses will square off with Norway on Oct. 6 and Sweden on Oct. 10.

Denton has progressed through England’s national teams as she competed for the U19 team this past summer at the 2022 UEFA Women’s U-19 Championship. Denton was selected for the English squad as they were one of eight teams to make the championship. Denton started in two of the three games for the Lionesses against Norway and Germany.

So far in her sophomore season, Denton has started all nine games and played 90 minutes in each game on the back line. She has helped the Cardinals record five shutouts so far this season and scored the game-winning goal in the second half of the 3-2 victory over #23 Memphis.
