LAFC and Kaiser Permanente Celebrate Five Years Together as a Force for Good in Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), the LAFC Foundation and Kaiser Permanente are celebrating the five year anniversary of their Golden Boot Partnership and being a Force For Good in L.A. with the dedication and opening of a new futsal court at Chase Elementary School in Los Angeles on Sept. 28. This the is the 16th new futsal court that the LAFC Foundation, Kaiser Permanete, adidas and U.S. Soccer have combined to build together in Southern California since 2018.


“We are excited to celebrate this important milestone of opening our 16th futsal court in Southern California,” said LAFC Co-President & CBO Larry Freedman. “We are proud of the impact we have made in the community alongside our partners at Kaiser in just five years together, and I know there is even more to come.”

The collaboration has committed to providing five new futsal courts per year to schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District, totaling 25 courts by the end of 2023. In 2022, Los Angeles Academy Middle School, Mark Twain Middle School, Evergreen-Avenue Elementary School, Holmes Elementary School and Ernest Lawrence Middle School received new fustal courts built on the campus of the school, providing safe recreational opportunities for students and community members.

The ongoing project highlights each organization’s mission and commitment to expanding access to fitness opportunities for students and providing an opportunity to play the world’s game.

Having strong community partners like LAFC with a shared vision made this exciting project possible.”

Kaiser Permanente’s roots run deep throughout Southern California with a long history of expanding health access to communities, shaping health knowledge and improving environments. The collaboration with LAFC falls in line with the health care organization’s mission to improve the total health of its 4.8 million members in Southern California, as well as the communities it serves.
