Tech falls 3-1 to Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Virginia Tech fell to Davidson, 3-1, on the road on Tuesday night.

The Wildcats struck first against the run of play off a corner kick in the 13th minute, but Danny Flores responded with a penalty kick in the 24th minute.

Davidson responded again just eight minutes later when a Wildcat was able to get past a Tech defender in a one-on-one situation then slot the ball past Ben Martino with a deflection.

Prior to either team scoring, the play had favored the Hokies. Tech had an early penalty shout when Nick Blacklock was taken down, then in the 5th minute, Misei Yoshizawa registered a shot on fram from close range.

The Hokies went into the break with an 5-2 advantage with shots on target, but Davidson evened that line up by the final whistle.

Davidson added a third goal as time expired.
