Ben Foster has said Jude Bellingham would be the “main man” at Old Trafford if he chooses to join Manchester United next summer.
Bellingham is expected to be on the move from Borussia Dortmund in 2023.
The English teenager will probably cost more than £100million after impressing for club and country in recent seasons.
He is now a mainstay in the England team and is expected to start at the World Cup this winter.
With his Dortmund exit on the cards, a host of top clubs have been linked with Bellingham.
Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly leading the race as things stand, however, Manchester United have also been heavily linked.
Many moons ago the Red Devils would have probably been able to fend off opposition in the transfer market with relative ease, but their fortunes off and on the pitch have not fared too well since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
Without a trophy in five years, United finished sixth last season after a woeful campaign under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Foster says he thinks it would be a beneficial move for the Dortmund playmaker.
Foster likened the 19-year-old’s situation to that of Jack Grealish, who joined City from Aston Villa for £100m last year.
Since joining the Premier League champions, Grealish has been unable to play his usual expressive game, and Foster fears Bellingham could be in the same situation if he joins a club like City.
“For me personally, I would love to see him go to Manchester United,” the former United and England goalkeeper said.
“I think he would thrive more at Manchester United, he’d have more responsibility and I think he would enjoy it there more.
“I think he would know he’s the main man. I worry that if he went to a club like Man City he might just sort of [end up] a little like Jack Grealish.
“He would just fade a little bit at Manchester City. So I would love him at Manchester United, I think he would smash it.”
In another disappointing international break for England, Bellingham played the full 90 minutes in the loss away to Italy and the 3-3 draw against Germany at Wembley.
He provided an assist against the Germans but is still awaiting…
