Cooper Named PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week

DURHAM – Duke women’s soccer sophomore forward Michelle Cooper has been named Duke’s PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week, following her four-goal weekend for the Blue Devils.

Cooper turned in an impressive week with four goals and two assists for 10 points as fifth-ranked Duke defeated Boston College (3-0) and No. 22 NC State (6-0). On the road at NC State on Sunday, Cooper collected two goals and two assists for a career-high six points to spark the Duke offense.

The Clarkston, Mich. native took only three shots and scored two goals, including the game winner on Sunday. She opened the week with two goals in a 3-0 win over Boston College. It marked her fifth multi-goal performance of her short career and first in back-to-back contests. Cooper owns an ACC-best nine goals, five assists and ACC leading 23 points on the season.

The Blue Devils are back in action on Sept. 30 when they host Virginia at Koskinen Stadium. First touch is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcasted live on ACCNX.

PNC Achievers is a student honors platform that is active at nearly 20 schools and universities across PNC Bank’s service area.
