Wisconsin back home to face Indiana

MADISON, Wis. – The conference season is now off and running for the Wisconsin Women’s Soccer team. However, the Badgers have yet to play a home game versus a Big Ten opponent. That will change this Sunday as the Indiana Hoosiers travel to Madison to face the women of Wisconsin Sunday at 1 p.m. at McClimon Field.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW:

1. LAST TIME OUT: For the third straight game, Wisconsin tallied three goals in the second half as it dominated Purdue, 5-2, on Thursday. Natalie Viggiano had a standout day, recording a brace and also provided an assist. Emma Jaskaniec scored in her seventh straight game, while Aryssa Mahrt and Adee Boer also got on the scoreboard.

2. HISTORY WITH HOOSIERS: Wisconsin has had a back and forth history with Indiana. Within the last ten matchups, the Badgers have come out on top six of those times. However, the last time the two teams saw each other the result did not go in the Badgers favor, so Wisconsin is looking to change that for its 20th matchup.

3. DRAW IT UP: The Indiana Women’s Soccer team has had a slow start to the season as it has scored in only two games thus far. However, despite that the Hoosiers remain undefeated after eight games. Those two games they found the back of the net in are the only two they have won, however, the Hoosiers have found themselves locked in a 0-0 draw at the end of the other six matchups.

4. MCCLIMON MAGIC: Against Indiana while at home, the Badgers have only lost two games. The team is undefeated in the last five games while defending their home field versus this Big Ten opponent. On the season, the Badgers have yet to lose while at McClimon and look to follow that trend into Sunday’s matchup.

5. COMING UP: Wisconsin will remain in Madison for the next two games following the Indiana face-off. After Sunday, the team wil turn to Maryland on Thursday, Sept. 30 and Minnesota on Sunday, Oct. 2.
