Belgium boss Roberto Martinez was glowing in his praise of Kevin De Bruyne who he says is the “most incredible playmaker in world football” following their 2-1 UEFA Nations League win over Wales on Thursday.

Martinez labeled the Manchester City midfielder’s display as “magical”, opening the scoring in the 10th minute before setting up Michy Batshuayi for the second on 37 minutes.

“It’s a message for all our fans, don’t take for granted watching Kevin De Bruyne play,” Martinez told reporters.

“For me he’s the most incredible playmaker in world football at this present time.

“His way of seeing the game, his way of seeing the time and space and then the execution in front of goal.

“I thought his performance was magical today. But he’s been doing that consistently. Sometimes I look at him, we’re so lucky to have a player like Kevin.”

De Bruyne was crowned the 2021-22 Premier League Player of the Season after leading City to the title. He also won that title in 2019-20.

Meanwhile on Thursday in the Nations League, there were some spectacular goals scored as Croatia edged Denmark 2-1 in Zagreb.

Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud netted as France got past Austria 2-0, while the Netherlands won 2-0 in Poland.
