  • Both teams are itching to find the back of the net as both are coming off scoreless draws last Thursday night in Michigan. They Buckeyes drew with the Wolverines while Iowa drew at Michigan State.
  • This will be 25th all-time meeting between the two teams and the first since October of 2019. The Buckeyes lead the all-time series 16-7-1.
  • In the 2019 meeting in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes scored in the second overtime period to win the match 2-1. Marike Mousset had the Buckeye goal on an assist from then sophomore Kayla Fischer.
  • The last meeting between the two teams in Columbus was on Sept. 27, 2018, and the Buckeyes won that match 2-0. A freshman Talani Barnett headed-in the Buckeyes’ first goal of the match in the 71st minute. That was the second goal of her freshman season, and she has not scored a goal since.
  • The first RPI of the season will released this week and the Buckeyes find themselves at No. 10. That is second in the Big Ten to only undefeated Rutgers. That position is due in large part to four Top 75 RPI road wins so far this season.
  • Iowa enters the match at 3-4-3 on the season. The Hawkeyes are tied with the Buckeyes in the Big Ten standings at 0-1-1. The two teams have a common opponent in Kansas. The Buckeyes opened the year with a 1-0 win in Lawrence and Iowa fell 1-0 at home on Aug. 25.
  • Junior midfielder Peyton McNamara and senior forward Emma Sears are tied for the team lead with four goals on the season. Sears is also tied with Olivia Sensky with a team-high two assists.
  • Sensky will be playing in her 80th collegiate match on Sunday. She played 70 matches for Ohio over the last four seasons and has started all nine matches on the back line for the Buckeyes this season.
