ORANGE UPDATE:
‘Cuse enters Tuesday’s match with an undefeated record of 6-0-1, which is the best start to a season since 2016. The Orange have won four consecutive matches, which is the longest winning streak since 2016 when the squad started the season 8-0-0.
In its last match, Syracuse took down defending national champion and No. 1 Clemson on the road. The Orange snapped the Tiger’s 11-match win streak, which dated back to last year’s Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament.
After falling behind in the eighth minute, Syracuse scored two unanswered goals to beat Clemson. Jeorgio Kocevski equalized in the 18th minute, as the Orange capitalized on a Clemson miscue. Just three minutes into the second half, a moment of brilliance from Levonte Johnson gave Syracuse the lead. Johnson leads the Orange in goals with three.
Syracuse’s defense of Abdi Salim, Buster Sjoberg, Christian Curti and Olu Oyegunle secured the upset with heroic defending in the closing stages of the match. Redshirt-senior goalkeeper Russell Shealy tied a career-high in saves with six, as he came up clutch with two saves in the final thirty minutes.
The win marks the first victory over a No. 1 ranked team since 2018, when Syracuse beat No. 1 Wake Forest 2-0 at home.
The Orange lead the conference in Goals Against Average with a mark of 0.29. They are tied with Duke for the conference lead in goals allowed with two. Syracuse has played two more matches than the Blue Devils.

Colgate is 4-1-1 to open the season. The Raiders are led by Erik Ronning, who is in his 17th season as head coach. He holds an overall record of 139-118-56 at Colgate and led the Raiders to a Patriot League title in 2018.
The Raiders dominated in a 3-0 win over Boston Univeristy in their last match. After a closely contested first 40 minutes, Ethan Harris provided Colgate the lead right before halftime. Nick Steed doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute, then just a minute later Max Edelstein put the match away and secured the three points.
