SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes and FC Dallas played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night at PayPal Park. The result extends San Jose’s home unbeaten streak to three matches (2-0-1).

FC Dallas took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute. A cut-back pass by Marco Farfan found Jader Obrian at the top of the box. Obrian’s first-timed shot was deflected and caught JT Marcinkowski diving the other direction.


San Jose equalized just eight minutes later. Following a handball in the box, forward Jeremy Ebobisse successfully converted his penalty kick attempt. It marked his 16th goal of 2022, tied for third-most in a single season in Quakes history and most among all players other than Chris Wondolowski.

The Earthquakes will now turn their attention to the California Clasico at Stanford Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 24, presented by Stanford Medicine. The highly anticipated event features the San Jose Earthquakes vs. LA Galaxy, a military appreciation celebration, and the region’s largest fireworks show postgame. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California, as well as on local radio via KNBR 1050 (English), and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).

GAME NOTES

The Earthquakes currently hold a 7-14-10 record (31 pts.) during the 2022 MLS regular season.

San Jose is now 29-21-20 all-time vs. FC Dallas, including a 17-8-11 home record.

The Earthquakes are now 7-10-7 in MLS play under interim head coach Alex Covelo.

Forward Jeremy Ebobisse scored his 16th goal of the season and 43rd goal of his MLS career. His 16 goals are tied for the third-most in a single season in club history and most among all players other than Chris Wondolowski. His goal also marked his second goal of the season and of his MLS career via penalty.

The Quakes extended their home unbeaten streak to three matches (2-0-1).
