Erling Haaland’s sensational debut month at Manchester City has seen him take home the Premier League Player of the Month award for August.
The Norway striker has torn up England early on after his summer move from Borussia Dortmund.
He opened his Man City account on the opening weekend of the season with a superb brace away at West Ham United. The 22-year-old won and converted a penalty before sealing a 2-0 victory with a well-taken effort in the second half.
An assist in a more quiet outing against Bournemouth followed before Haaland scored Man City’s second in a 3-3 draw at Newcastle United.
But it was in the champions’ final two Premier League games of the month where Haaland really shone. With Man City trailing 2-0 at home to Crystal Palace, Haaland would score three of their four goals in an eventual 4-2 comeback win, netting his first hat-trick in English football.
Days later, Haaland grabbed his second Man City hat-trick, scoring half of their goals in their 6-0 demolition of Nottingham Forest on the final day of August.
Haaland’s rip-roaring form has continued into September with strikes against Aston Villa, Sevilla and former club Borussia Dortmund. He has reached double figures of goals in the Premier League already and is four clear of second-placed Aleksandar Mitrovic in the scoring charts.
