NEED TO KNOW

•    No. 3 Duke (5-2) will open ACC action on Friday, Sept. 16 at Syracuse (7-1) at SU Soccer Stadium in Syracuse, N.Y.  Match time is set for 7 p.m.

•    Friday’s match will be aired on ACC Network Extra with Zach Letson (PXP) and Sydney Staples (Color) calling the action.  

•    Duke enters Friday’s contest with a five-match winning streak in ACC regular season action.  It is the longest streak since 2018 (6).

•    In the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, Duke remains No. 3 nationally.  

•    The Blue Devils will take senior Julia Hannon to her home state of New York as she is a native of Massapequa, N.Y.  In 2019, Hannon posted her second collegiate goal versus the Orange in Durham.

•    Duke will play two out of its next three matches on the road as Duke also travels to NC State on Sept. 25.

•    In the lone match without Michelle Cooper, the Blue Devils won, 1-0, at ECU, but since her return, Duke has scored 14 goals over its last six matches.

•    Seven different Blue Devils have combined to score 15 goals over the first seven matches for Duke.  Michelle Cooper and Kat Rader have scored six out of the last seven Blue Devil goals.

STORYLINES/OTHER BLUE DEVIL NOTES

•    In games following a loss, the Blue Devils have collected a 7-0-1 ledger over the last eight contests.

•    Over the last 18 road matches, Duke owns a 13-4-1 record.

•    Duke has won five straight true road contests dating back to last season.  The Blue Devils feature a 3-0 ledger on the road so far this year.  

•    The Blue Devils will travel to the state of New York to play for the fifth time in school history.  Duke owns a 4-0 ledger in those contests — Army (2011), Syracuse (2016, 2019, 2021).

•    Duke has taken 24 of its 34 corner kicks in the second half.
