Rio Grande has doubled down on the intensity and focus in order to secure all points available as they keep their postseason berth quest alive, with a familiar face in the way this week.

In-state rival El Paso Locomotive look to derail any hopes that the Toros have in making the climbs in the standings as they host RGV FC in a pivotal Copa Tejas match for the South Texas side. El Paso are coming off a solid pair of matches against Western Conference sides after defeating both Phoenix Rising (3-1) and New Mexico United (1-2) back -to-back to earn a sixth place spot in the West which inches closer to a playoff berth.

RGV FC have displayed their firepower potential offensively in the last two matches, scoring six goals in two games. The Toros dropped three obtainable points at Phoenix Rising just days ago after a 2-1 loss which dented their record. Despite the result, the side has remained confident and grow eager to show their strength on the pitch, as they have done all season against any caliber of opponent.
