NEED TO KNOW

•    Second-ranked Duke will hit the road for another tilt against a ranked foe as the Blue Devils (4-1) will face No. 6 TCU on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 8 p.m. (ET).

•    Sunday’s match will be aired on ESPN+ from Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. Charles LaMendola (PXP) and Chris Blake (Color) will call the action.  

•    Duke is in the middle of one of the most difficult stretches in regular season history for the Blue Devils.  On Thursday, Sept. 1, Duke faced No. 3 UCLA followed by a road contest Sunday, Sept. 4 at No. 6 TCU (3-1-1), before hosting top-ranked North Carolina (5-0) on Thursday, Sept. 8.

•    Senior Sarah Piper will head to her home state of Texas this weekend as the Blue Devils face TCU.  Piper hails from The Woodlands, Texas and attended Ralston Valley High School. It is about three hours from Fort Worth.

•    The last time Duke traveled to the state of Texas for a match was in 2013 when the Blue Devils played at 12th-ranked Texas A&M and won, 1-0.

•    In the lone match without Michelle Cooper, the Blue Devils won, 1-0, at ECU, but since her return, Duke has scored 11 goals over its last four matches.

•    Seven different Blue Devils have combined to score 12 goals over the first five matches for Duke.

STORYLINES/OTHER BLUE DEVIL NOTES

•    After allowing only five goals in the first 10 matches a year ago, the Blue Devils have allowed five goals in five matches.

•    Duke has only allowed seven shots in the second half this season.  Duke holds a 32-6 advantage in corner kicks.

•    In four matches back with the Blue Devils, Michelle Cooper has tallied two assists and three goals.  She assisted on the game-winner against UNCG and Tennessee, while notching the game-tying goal versus the Lady Vols. Cooper has scored goals in three straight matches.

•    Duke has scored at least one goal in 18 straight matches, which is the fourth-longest streak in school history – 26 in 1994-95, 20 in 2003-04 & 2017.
