Second Half Comeback Leads Cardinals Past Seattle, 2-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville men’s soccer team (3-0-0) scored two goals in the final 20 minutes of play to come from behind and defeat Seattle (1-2-0), 2-1, Friday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Facing a 1-0 deficit into the 70th minute, goals from Konstantinos Georgallides and Brandon McManus pushed the Cardinals to their third-straight win to begin the season.

It was a physical first half between the two teams and the Cardinals had the majority of high leverage opportunities throughout the first 45 minutes. 

The best chance for the Cardinals came in the 43rd minute off a service from keeper Gavin Krenecki. The ball was played back to him and he lofted a through ball up to Eric Danquah, who made a run past the Redhawks defense. He collected the ball into the box and his attempt was saved by Kasim who had to come out of net to save the Cardinals chance.

The score remained 0-0 at the half and the Cardinals held a 10-2 shot advantage over the first 45 minutes.

Seattle broke through for the first goal of the match in the 52nd minute. Camron Miller’s header off the corner found the back of the net and the Redhawks held a 1-0 lead.
