Ilijah Paul’s Hat Trick Leads UW Past Utah Valley

South Florida

SEATTLE – Behind Ilijah Paul’s hat trick, the No. 8/2 UW men’s soccer team secured the 4-1 win over Utah Valley on Friday night.

After a scoreless first half, the Huskies (3-0) came out firing in the second when Paul scored his first goal of the game in the 47th minute off the free kick by Chris Meyers.

Four minutes later, Paul followed it up with his second of the night to make it 2-0 off the deflection by the Utah Valley goalie.

Gio Miglietti scored his first goal of the season in the 63rd minute. Meyers hit the corner and after a few bounces, Omar Grey sent it into the box for Miglietti to tap it into the back of the net.

Paul netted his first career hat trick in the 64th minute. Lucas Meek passed the ball into Grey just past midfield and Grey crossed over to Paul to put the Huskies up 4-0.

Utah Valley scored the final goal of the evening in the 78th minute, bringing the score to 4-1.
