LOS ANGELES – The USC women’s soccer team hosts No. 6 TCU for its home opener on Thursday at 3 p.m.

SERIES VS TCU – The Trojans and TCU have only played once in their history, with USC picking up a 1-0 victory in Fort Worth back on Aug. 27, 2010.
LAST TIME OUT – The Trojans, who are coming off a nine-day break since their last contest, beat Long Beach State, 1-0, on the road last time out. Aaliyah Farmer scored the lone goal early in first half, heading in a corner from Croix Bethune. Anna Smith and the Trojan defense made the 7th-minute goal stand up, with their first shutout of the year.
BETHUNE’S ACCOLADES – Midfielder Croix Bethune was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List early this season and was also rated the No. 1 player in college soccer by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
U-20 WORLD CUP – USC had four players compete at the U-20 World Cup this summer, with Simone Jackson representing the USA, and Simi Awujo, Zoe Burns and Brooklyn Courtnall playing for Canada. Burns and Awujo started all three games for Canada and Courtnall started two of the three. Jackson came off the bench in two of the three games for the U.S., scoring the lone goal in the team’s final game.
AWUJO CALLED UP – On the heels of a strong showing at the U-20 World Cup for Canada, Simi Awujo received her first call up to the full Canadian National Team last week. She will join Canada for international friendlies against Australia on Sept. 3 and 6.
A NEW ERA – The Trojans hired Jane Alukonis to be the fifth head coach in program history in January of this year. Alukonis comes to USC after four years as an assistant at UCLA, where she helped the Bruins to two Pac-12 Championships and an NCAA College Cup appearance.
