HERRIMAN, Utah – Real Salt Lake (10-8-9, 39 pts, 5th West) returns to action Wednesday with a critical 7:30 p.m. MT kickoff in Sandy against Minnesota United FC (13-9-5, 44 pts, 3rd West) amidst a very crowded West table in the race for the MLS Cup Playoffs. Nine teams occupy 3rd – 11th places in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference, separated by just 12 points, with anywhere from six-to-eight games remaining, many of which against each other. RSL returns home on the heels of Saturday’s 1-1 comeback draw at FC Dallas, as substitute FW Anderson Julio’s 69th-minute goal rescued a valuable point and extended RSL’s unbeaten streak in the DFW Metroplex to five games, as last year’s Justin Meram-inspired 2-1 comeback win at Toyota Stadium catapulted the Claret-and-Cobalt Club’s Cinderella run to the Western Conference Final.
