WINDSOR, Colo. – Northern Colorado Hailstorm goalkeeper Johan Peñaranda has been nominated for USL League One Fans’ Choice Save of the Week for Week 22. This is his fourth Save of the Week nomination in seven weeks, winning in Weeks 16 and 18, and being nominated in Week 22.
Minutes before the Hailstorm took the lead in Saturday’s win over Greenville Triumph SC, Peñaranda made a save to keep the game nil-nil. In the 58th minute, Jesús Ibarra found space on the wing and got a cross away, looking for Peter Pearson in the box. Pearson headed the ball on target from six yards out. Diving to his right, Peñaranda stretched a glove out to deflect the shot, getting just enough of a touch on the ball to keep his clean sheet alive.

In addition to Peñaranda’s Save of the Week nominations, Thomas Olsen also won Save of the Week in Week 14.
Northern Colorado is back in action Saturday evening, September 3, at 7 p.m. MDT at Severance High School in Severance, Colorado. The team will play host to league-leading North Carolina FC.
