InTERPship Academy Reflections - University of Maryland Athletics

Every summer, University of Maryland student-athletes gain unique career experiences through the InTERPship Academy, the Maryland Made’s summer internship program. In its eighth year, the program educates, develops, and prepares student-athletes for life after competition through internship experiences and career readiness initiatives.

During the summer of 2022, the Maryland Made unit had 13 student-athletes, from 7 different sports represented in this program. Some student-athletes interned within the Maryland’s Intercollegiate Athletic department, while others are interning with external partners and organizations. The student-athletes experiences range from internships in communications, international affairs, physical therapy, graphic designing, psychology and so many more.

“Our student-athletes continue to seek opportunities that give them experiences in the fields that they are passionate about and are potentially seeking after graduation. Many of the student-athletes that have participated in this program have gone onto receive full-time job offers with many of the companies. I am excited to continue to expand this program to include more of our student-athletes next summer,” Lovelace said.

Below you will find a few examples of the experiences that this summers interns had.
