If Mo Salah wasn’t sick enough at failing to notch in a nine-goal stroll, the Liverpool striker leads the line in the weekend’s worst XI.

GK: Ederson – 6.24
You’d think the fella who conceded nine would be a shoo-in for the No.1 spot but Mark Travers earned a 7.69 while balls flew into his net at a rate of one every 10 minutes. So Ederson takes the gloves after a quiet afternoon in City’s sticks. The Brazilian stood little chance with either of Palace’s goals after his defence lost the plot during a couple of set-pieces and he had only one other save to make.
RB: Nathaniel Clyne – 6.00
The Palace defender was under strict instructions to sit and stay and Clyne did a reasonable job of keeping Phil Foden quiet-ish. But the former England international finished his 74-minute shift with the lowest passing accuracy rate of any Palace player, losing the ball 10 times with 55.6 per cent of his passes.
CB: Chris Mepham – 5.73
Again, you’d expect this XI to be riddled with Cherries after Bournemouth got a record-equalling battering. But Mepham is one of only two representatives after the centre-back helped Liverpool out by scoring the all-important sixth of nine at Anfield.
CB: Lewis Dunk – 6.19
With Mepham the only Prem centre-back earning a sub-six score, Dunk is somewhat unfortunate to partner the Bournemouth defender in the weekend’s dodgiest defence. Brighton won with a clean sheet but the England defender suffers for having lost two of his three aerial duels while giving away possession to Leeds a dozen times.

LB: Tyrick Mitchell – 5.97
The Palace left-back didn’t make it to the hour mark because of injury and in 57 minutes, Mitchell made no blocks, interceptions or tackles against City. He also allowed Bernardo Silva to dribble across the Palace box and shoot to give the champions their first goal and the impetus to score three more.
MF: Conor Gallagher – 5.03
The Chelsea midfielder felt the need to apologise having earned the weekend’s lowest score by getting himself sent off for a couple of bookings inside 28 minutes of the win over Leicester.
