Soccer Battles to 1-1 Draw at Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. – University of Missouri soccer (2-1-1) finished even, 1-1, on its first road trip of the 2022 regular season at University of Nebraska-Omaha Sunday, Aug. 28.

Mizzou started strong and pressured early, earning eight corner kicks in the first half. Sophomore Milena Fischer struck first in the 17th minute, earning her first goal of the season, from freshman Hannah Boughton.

Freshman Kylee Simmons came close to netting a second goal for the Tigers but hit the goal post in the 80th minute, her second shot of the contest. Omaha kept the pressure on Missouri in the second half, scoring in the 86th minute off a corner to tie the game. 

Tigers held the advantage in shots (13-5) and shots on goal (4-2), as well as corners (13-3).

Fischer scores her first goal of the year, sixth of her career, and Boughton tallies her first assist in her college career.

NOTES

Mizzou earned eight corner kicks in the first half, and 13 total in the game.

Fischer joins Pettet at the top of the team with four points this season.
