Gameweek 4 presents the most challenging captain decision of the season so far, with our go-to picks from Liverpool, Manchester City, Spurs and Arsenal all having favourable fixtures. Three of the sides play at home and three face promoted teams.

We saw a split captaincy decision last time around which provided little to separate the most popular options of Mohamed Salah, Gabriel Jesus, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane. Salah, who is the only midfielder among this quartet, managed the biggest return with eight fantasy points in Gameweek 3.

So who should we select in Gameweek 4?

Salah looks to be the early captain favourite for Gameweek 3. Liverpool have had a less than impressive start to the campaign, but Salah has still netted two goals and one assist in his opening three games. Liverpool are working with a small squad right now, but they should still dominate against promoted Bournemouth.

Salah has played every minute of action so far this season, with eight shots on goal and 13 chances created: no other player has created more. His record against Bournemouth is exemplary: he’s scored every time he’s faced them, with six goals and one assist from eight appearances.

He’s also on penalties, while Bournemouth have conceded 48 shots in their opening three games, conceding seven goals.

Jesus is the driving force in an Arsenal attack who have started the season in blistering form, sitting top of the Premier League table after three games, with nine goals scored.

The Brazil international has been involved in over half of those returns, scoring two goals and grabbing three assists. Four of those attacking returns have come at home. 

Jesus ranks third for shots in the box this season with ten, with his two goals coming from three big chances. Opponents Fulham have conceded four goals across their opening three games and have overperformed defensively, conceding nine big chances. They are most vulnerable in central positions.
