14 great stats that show how good Gunners have been in 2022-23

Arsenal are top of the Premier League table. They’re the only side in the division to boast a 100% win ratio so far. And that’s not the only impressive statistic from their start to the season.

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners have kicked off the 2022-23 campaign like a house on fire. They’ve been well worth the points in all three of their victories to date, having swept aside Crystal Palace, Leicester and Bournemouth.

It is a stark contrast to their slow start last season and underlines that the Arsenal hierarchy were right to ‘trust the process’ and place faith in the project Arteta is building at the Emirates.

“We’ve seen the development of this team, the youngsters coming through, the ability to go out there and play the way Arteta wants them to. But the bigger tests are coming,” said former Gunners right-back Lee Dixon on CBS Sports.

“Forget the documentary. That’s good to look at, but it’s the stuff of nonsense. It’s not reality, it’s edited… that’s reality out there, what we’re seeing is reality. A great performance, but the bigger tests are coming. Then we’ll be able to see the process is working.”

Arteta and the players have struck a similar chord about remaining grounded ahead of a long and tough season ahead.

The manager said that there is still room for improvement following the 3-0 win at Bournemouth, while club captain Martin Odegaard also isn’t allowing himself to get carried away just yet.

“Compared to last season we are a little bit ahead but we have to stay calm and we have to stay humble and see where it takes us.

“It was really solid from start to the end. We came out and dominated, made some good chances and scored some good goals.

“We know it’s always difficult coming to these places. We have struggled before but we were so sharp and aggressive. It was a good performance from start to finish,” Odegaard told Sky.

Still, with all that said, Arsenal have laid down an early marker with some statement-making early-season displays.

Here are 14 stats that illustrate how far they’ve come.

– Arsenal are nine points ahead of where they were at the same stage last season.

– This is the first time since 2004-05 and only the third time in the Premier League era that Arsenal have won their opening three games.
