NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt soccer’s Rachel Deresky has been named the Southeastern Conference’ Forward of the Week following her two-goal opening weekend.
Deresky scored the first goal of the season for the Commodores, finding the opening goal in the 31st minute at Evansville Thursday night before following it up with the lone goal Sunday at Purdue in the waning minutes. Her two goals were the first and second game-winners of her career.
The sophomore from Dunkirk, Maryland, doubled her rookie season goal total in just two games played this season. The four-point week also matches her point total from the 2021 season.
In 102 minutes played, Deresky fired four shots off, including three on goal.
Deresky and the rest of the team open their home slate of competition this Thursday at 7 p.m. when they host Western Kentucky.
