Chelsea target Wesley Fofana has let it be known that he believes Leicester are pricing him out of a move to Stamford Bridge as they stand by their £85m valuation.
The 21-year-old is hoping Chelsea’s next offer will be accepted, with the two clubs having been wide apart on a transfer fee.
Chelsea have already had bids of £60m and £65m rejected as they seek to bolster their options in central defence.
Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana has been a summer transfer target for Chelsea
Personal terms between the Blues and the defender had been agreed last week.
Although Fofana only agreed a new five-year Leicester deal back in March, he has been keen to move to Stamford Bridge where he can expect a much improved deal worth around £200,000 per week.
Despite Leicester’s reluctance to sell, boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted recently that ‘naturally if there is interest from other clubs then of course that is looked at by the club.’
Fofana has continued to play for the Foxes at the start of the Premier League season
Fofana has continued to feature for Leicester at the start of this season, playing 90 minutes in their opening day 2-2 draw at home against Brentford before also playing the full match at Arsenal where he was booked during the 4-2 loss.
The Blues have been looking for new defensive options for much of the summer following the exits of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger who both left for Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively following the expiration of their contracts.
