Four Legion FC Players Make USL Team of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced the Team of the Week for Week 22 of the 2022 regular season on Tuesday, with Legion FC taking three of the eleven spots in the side as well as earning a spot in the honorable mention list after a dominant 6-0 win over Atlanta United 2 last weekend at Protective Stadium.


Forward Juan Agudelo played his best game in a Birmingham jersey, according to Head Coach Tommy Soehn, as the former U.S. Men’s National Team player bagged two assists and scored his fourth goal of the season via a towering header. Agudelo had two shots and created another two chances in the game en route to his first Team of the Week nod as a Legion FC player.

Defender Jonny Dean yet again controlled the entirety of the right side of the pitch for the Three Sparks, as he earned his fourth Team of the Week honor of the season and made the team for the second week in a row. The Macon, GA product contributed an assist, his fourth of the season which is tied for the second most on the team, as well as three chances created. Defensively he was strong as well, winning all six of his duels, including going three for three in the air, and completed two of three tackles to go with one shot and one interception.

Forward Prosper Kasim earned his spot on TOTW for the third time this season by burying a penalty kick in the 37th minute of the ATL game and following that up almost immediately with an assist on BHM’s third goal of the game in the 39th minute. The Ghanaian had five chances created, two shots, completed two of four dribbles, and won four of six duels. On the season, he now sits second on the team in goals (six), assists (four, tied with Dean), shots (32), and chances created (41).

Midfielder Enzo Martinez continued his league MVP-level of play and grabbed a spot on TOTW for the fourth time in his standout first season in the Magic City. After his two goal, one assist performance, the Uruguayan now has nine goals on the season, good for a tie for 14th in the league and first on his team, and has six assists, which is tied for ninth-most in the USLC and leads Legion FC. He also paces his side in shots (41) and chances created (51), and on the night put up a 2.44 expected goals tally on nine shots, added six chances created, won one duel and had one interception.
