Revolution II Fall to Toronto FC II, 2-0

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II (7-6-4, 26 pts.) fell to Toronto FC II (7-6-3, 26 pts.), 2-0, on Sunday night at Gillette Stadium. Revolution Academy goalkeeper Max Weinstein made five saves in his professional debut as Marcos Dias notched four shots with one on net.

Weinstein made three saves to keep the game tied in a tightly-contested first half, as Dias extended his team lead in shots to 14 in the ninth minute, sending a left-footed shot to the center of the goal that was blocked.

In the 57th minute, midfielder Trevor Zwetsloot was shown Revolution II’s first red card of the season as New England played the rest of the match with 10 players. Toronto broke the scoreless stalemate in the 68th minute and extended its lead in the 73rd minute.

The match saw the professional debut of Brandonn Bueno in the 83rd minute as he entered the contest for Michel. Academy forward Malcolm Fry subbed in for Ítalo, making his first appearance with Revolution II since the season opener on March 27.

Weinstein made two more saves in the second half as New England saw two chances in stoppage time, but ultimately fell 2-0.

Revolution II returns to action on Sunday, August 7 when they head to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. to take on Inter Miami II at DRV PNK Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET on MLSNEXTPro.com.

Academy goalkeeper Max Weinstein made five saves in his professional debut with Revolution II.

Academy forward Brandonn Bueno became the 23rd Academy player to make his professional debut with New England’s second team, entering the match in the 83rd minute.

Academy forward Malcolm Fry made his first appearance with Revs II since the team’s season opener, coming in as a sub in the 83rd minute.

Defender Colby Quiñones made his first appearance with the team since June 4, logging 21 minutes.

Forward Marcos Dias recorded four shots with one on target in the match to extend his team lead in both categories to 38 and 14 respectively.

Playing the full 90, defender Sean O’Hearn made his 40th professional appearance with New England’s second team.
