Oxlade-Chamberlain has had a career blighted by injury and Klopp confirmed the midfielder has suffered another ‘serious’ setback, which will reportedly keep him out until October.

“With Oxlade, it will take longer,” Klopp told reporters ahead of the Community Shield clash with Man City.
“It’s a serious hamstring injury and it will take longer.
“It’s a hamstring, we all hate this word, we hate the injury, but it happens from time to time and now Ox was the one.”

The flowery language – which admittedly may not have bee perfectly translated – didn’t stop there, as the report claims Klopp may dip into ‘the Serie A basin’ for a replacement for Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Hakan Calhanoglu, ‘already targeted at the beginning of the summer trading session’, is ‘a favourite of the German technical histrionic’.
The ‘Teutonic coach’ (seriously), is also thought to be an admirer of Adrien Rabiot of Juventus and AC Milan’s Ismael Bennacer, and ‘could be the subject of an assault by British society’.
Calhanoglu – who’s valued by Transfermarkt at £31.5m – swapped AC Milan for Inter Milan last summer, moving on a free transfer, and contributed 13 assists and seven goals in his first Serie A season for the Nerazzurri.
Liverpool got their transfer business done early this summer, signing Fabio Carvalho from Fulham and Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen, while Darwin Nunez was their big money acquisition from Benfica.
It’s been frequently reported that those three signings would be the sum total of their business despite spurious rumours to the contrary, and let’s face it, this one is almost certainly also wide of the mark.
Klopp was impressed with Nunez’s display in the 3-1 win over Manchester City on Saturday, and labelled criticism of the striker a “joke”.
