Chicago Fire FC Encourages Fans to Arrive Early to Saturday’s Doubleheader at Soldier Field

CHICAGO (July 29, 2022) – Fans attending the doubleheader event this Saturday, July 30 at Soldier Field are encouraged to arrive early as traffic patterns will be impacted due to Lollapalooza, Chicago’s largest music festival bringing hundreds of thousands of concertgoers to the area.


The Fire are slated to kick-off against Atlanta United FC on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. CT, with the Chicago Red Stars’ match against the San Diego Wave immediately following at 7:00 p.m. CT. Tickets to the doubleheader event can be purchased here and are valid for both games.

Transportation Info:

Due to Lollapalooza taking place at Grant Park, Columbus Drive will be closed from Monroe to Roosevelt throughout the weekend, with access to Soldier Field open via Roosevelt Road as well as North and South Bound DuSable Lakeshore Drive.

Parking lots will open for fans at 1:00 p.m. CT and fans are able to pre-purchase parking using their Chicago Fire Account manager and receive a $5 discount. Tailgating will begin at 1:00 p.m. CT and will be allowed continuously up until the Red Stars match at 7:00 p.m. CT.

For those taking public transportation, CTA buses #146 and #130 will operate from the Roosevelt CTA station to Soldier Field. Pedestrians will cross Columbus Drive and take the path under Lakeshore Drive. An expanded fleet of complimentary Tuk Tuk shuttles will be available for fans from the Roosevelt CTA station to Soldier Field. They will begin operating from 1:00-4:00 p.m. CT.

Rideshare services drop-off location will be permitted in various locations throughout Museum Campus, with the 18th street turnaround west of Lake Shore Drive closed to all vehicles. The pick-up location post-match will be on McFetridge Drive in front of the Field Museum.

The Club’s bike valet will operate on the north side of Soldier Field on McFetridge Drive beginning at 2:00 p.m. CT and will be open until 30 minutes after the Red Stars match ends. Divvy bike stations are also located in front of the Field Museum

The Fire look to continue their three-game win streak as they host Atlanta on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. CT. The match will be televised on WGN-TV and CF97 Live, and transmitted locally in Spanish on TUDN 1200 AM.
