Spurs boss Conte asks Paratici to sign ‘perfect’ £10.8m Roma star he’s ‘literally crazy for’

Antonio Conte has asked director Fabio Paratici to ‘catch’ Nicola Zalewski as the Tottenham boss is ‘literally crazy’ for him.

The 20-year-old has made just 25 senior appearances for the Serie A side, contributing three assists in that time.

Despite that lack of experience Calciomercato (via Sport Witness) claim Conte is ‘literally crazy’ for the youngster, who’s played predominantly as a left wing-back under Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese manager doesn’t want to lose the Poland international, and Roma have already reportedly rebuffed an offer from Paris Saint-Germain to sign him.

Sampdoria and Cagliari have also made contact over a loan move, but Spurs could look to push for Zalewski, whose ability to play wide makes him the ‘perfect identikit for Conte’s game’.

The Tottenham boss is said to be ‘in love with this boy’s football so much that he asked Paratici to try and catch him’.

Zalewski – who’s valued at £10.8m by Transfermarkt – started the Conference League Final, which saw them beat Feyenoord 1-0 in Tirana, and he paid tribute to Mourinho after the game.

“If someone had asked me about my definition of a dream, I would have replied: winning a European trophy as a starter,” said the 20-year-old.

“A lot things go through my head when I think about this past season,” he continued. “The opportunity given to me by Mourinho, his willingness to bet on me as a fullback, a role that wasn’t my natural one… the emotions of playing in a final, where perhaps I may have looked a bit timid due to the amount of pressure I felt.”

“And then so many other things that took place off the pitch which made this year a particular one for me.”

On his relationship with Mourinho, Zalewski commented, “A normal player-manager relationship. Nothing more, nothing less.”

Asked about his future then (in May), he said: “I hope it will be full of satisfactions because I feel good at Roma.”
